3 dead after accident in Polk County

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left three people dead Sunday night. According to PCSO, officers were called to a crash at the intersection of Northeast 46th Street and Northeast 94th Avenue east of Ankeny just before 8 p.m. Sunday. The preliminary investigation revealed that one vehicle with two occupants was traveling eastbound while the other vehicle with one occupant was traveling northbound. All three people were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims have not yet been identified. No additional information is available at this time. This story will continue to develop.
