Rochester man accused of stealing from Ontario County store – Finger Lakes Daily News

A Rochester man was arrested by the Ontario County Sheriff's Office after Dick's Sporting Goods Asset Protection Unit investigated a report of possible shoplifting.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Marvin Gilbert had allegedly stolen from the store on two other days and was removing security tabs when police arrived.

Gilbert was charged with two counts of petty theft and possession of burglary tools and was issued a summons to appear at Victor Town Court.

The 40-year-old was also banned from entering the Eastview Mall for life, the sheriff's office said.

The fact that a defendant is accused of a crime constitutes merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
