Several people seriously injured in car accident near the US-Mexico border

UPDATE: The original version of this story listed the accident location as Loop 375 and Porfirio Diaz. It actually occurred on Paisano, which runs directly under Loop 375 near the accident site.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – Four people were injured, two seriously, in a car crash near the U.S.-Mexico border Sunday afternoon, according to the Fire Department's operations center.

The accident occurred at 2:16 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Paisano near Porfirio Diaz.

Fire dispatch officials said an initial report indicated a head-on collision, and TXDOT cameras pointed at the scene showed a car turning in the other direction.

They added that four people were taken to hospital, two of them sustained serious injuries.

The other two suffered minor injuries.
