Accident on Route 3 in Duxbury, MA – NBC Boston

Three people were injured in an accident Sunday evening on Route 3 in Duxbury, Massachusetts.

The Duxbury Fire Department is advising people to avoid the area of ​​the car crash on Route 3 northbound before Exit 22.

Not many details have been released about the accident and its cause, but fire department photos show a badly damaged SUV that appears to have crashed into a tree off the road.

One person was trapped and had to be freed by the fire department, according to the fire department. A total of three people were taken to South Shore Hospital. There was initially no information about the severity of their injuries.

All off-duty members were recalled to provide cover to the city, the fire department said. They were also recalled Saturday night after a two-car crash at the intersection of Route 53 and Franklin Street around 7:30 p.m. sent two people to the hospital.
