Drama surrounding Sister Wives over huge property bought before separation

In the latest episode of SisterwivesThe uncertainty over the property, which the Brown family purchased in 2018, continued to be a point of contention between Cody and at least one of his ex-girlfriends – Janelle began to wonder if she wanted to do anything else with the property.

The family bought the massive property in 2018 and it was meant to be an estate for Kody, his four wives and their children, with each wife getting her own home and property. But in the years since, Christine separated from the polygamous marriage and sold her share of the pie to Kody and Robyn. Both Janelle and Meri were the next to leave Kody, although they are still invested in the property.

After spending some time in Montana with her daughter Maddie, Janelle began to have second thoughts about moving there instead of Coyote Pass.

“I actually thought about asking him to buy me out,” Janelle told Christine after her visit. She added that while she had always wanted to have “her own piece of land” with a garden and some animals on it, she realized in Montana that she could have that dream “somewhere else.”

“However, if Kody doesn't want to pay me off, I have to do something with it. But we have to pay it off and he's not talking to me about it,” she added, saying that all conversations between her and her ex have basically stopped since she said she wanted out of the relationship.

“I think I'm going to have to get a lawyer involved because I think that's the only way I'm ever going to get a ruling from him,” she continued. In a confessional, she added that she actually had “no legal standing” to make a claim to the property because there was no legal marriage between them.

Janelle made it clear that it was over, going on to say that she doesn't want Kody to be “part of my new life” after the split. She then added, “Once the Coyote Pass property is settled and I get my part out, I'll probably never have anything to do with him again” – telling Christine, “The land is keeping me trapped here.”

In his own confession, Kody said he believed Janelle was building at Coyote Pass – before adding, “If Janelle is building at Coyote Pass, then I have to decide if I want to be a neighbor of someone who basically just said he's done with him.”

According to his only remaining wife, Robyn, she would love for Janelle to stay with him… however unlikely that may be.

“If Janelle were to move, I would be devastated. I don't know how to leave all of this behind, and I'm not going to let go of Janelle,” she said during the episode. “They could still work it out and we could still be a family. That's the way I look at it, and I feel like the idiot who just doesn't get it.”
