Pramac announces result of race management meeting after controversial incident in Misano

Pramac team boss Gino Borsoi has announced that his team has spoken to the MotoGP race stewards about the controversial final lap of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Enea Bastianini caused a stir when he overtook Jorge Martin on the final lap at Turn 4 on Sunday to take the lead of the race.

The Ducati factory rider had a gap but lightly touched Martin, forcing the championship leader off the track while Bastianini also went over the kerbs.

Bastianini won the race by over five seconds, while the race organizers decided not to investigate the incident – much to the annoyance of Martin, who felt the maneuver went too far.

The race stewards also did not mention the incident in their race report, which further increases the lack of transparency about why they decided not to recognise the move.

Borsoi reveals that his team has spoken to the race stewards, noting: “We have spoken to the race director (the race stewards). They say the overtaking was OK, not too far over the limit. Well, it is what it is. We know that.”

The Pramac boss added that the race director's decision not to investigate the incident made it clear where the limits of racing lie from now on.

“Certainly not dramatic,” he said.
