Police investigate after man arrested for assault outside a pub in Maryport

Police are investigating an attack on three people which occurred outside the Butcher's Arms in Crosby Street, Maryport, at around 5.45pm on Friday 21 September.

A man was arrested in connection with this incident and subsequently released on bail. The investigation is ongoing and police are actively appealing for witnesses.

The suspect was described as a white man in his late 30s. At the time of the incident he was wearing black three-quarter length trousers with a white stripe down the sides, black shoes and a blue Berghaus jumper.

The woman in question is in her mid-30s and was wearing a white sweater, black shorts and black shoes. The woman suffered facial injuries.

The other man involved was wearing blue denim shorts, a black coat and a dark green hat.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Anyone with information about this incident can report it online quoting incident number 230 of 20/09/2024. You can also call 101.”
