Egypt expresses its condolences and supports Mali in the fight against terrorism

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty expressed his condolences to Malian Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop for the terrorist attack in Bamako on September 17, which targeted a gendarmerie training academy and parts of Bamako airport.

The two ministers met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly at UN headquarters, where Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's solidarity with the people and government of Mali and its support for all efforts to combat terrorism and extremist ideologies.

Abdelatty also discussed developments in the Sahel and West Africa with Diop, stressing Egypt's ongoing efforts to promote stability in the region.

He outlined Egypt's comprehensive approach to addressing the challenges facing countries in the region, including supporting national governments and state institutions in maintaining security, achieving stability and combating terrorist groups.
