VPD arrests two Pennsylvania men wanted for parole violations

VALDOSTA – Valdosta police have arrested two Pennsylvania men wanted for probation violations related to violent crimes.

Arrested 1. Justin Torres, Caucasian male, 37 years old, resident of Pennsylvania
Arrested 2. Frederick Swackhammer, Caucasian male, 41 years old, resident of Pennsylvania

On September 18, 2024, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Valdosta Police officers responded to a parking lot in the 2600 block of Bemiss Road after a citizen called 911 to report that the occupants of the vehicle were acting suspiciously. After receiving a detailed description of the men, officers found the two individuals milling around the parking lot.

Officers stopped 37-year-old Justin Torres and 41-year-old Frederick Swackhammer. Officers determined that Torres and Swackhammer had warrants from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections for violent crimes. Both individuals were arrested without incident.

Torres and Swackhammer were taken to the Lowndes County Jail on active arrest warrants from Pennsylvania.
They are now additionally charged with evading justice (a serious crime).
