Fatal accident closes part of access road in northern Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A portion of an access road just off Loop 101 in northern Phoenix was closed early Monday morning due to a fatal accident.

The accident was reported around 4 a.m. in a desert area near 47th Avenue and Beardsley Road, north of Loop 101. Details are limited, but at least one person died, authorities on the scene confirmed to Arizona's Family.

The access road to westbound 47th Avenue is closed while emergency crews attempt to reconstruct the cause of the accident.

Arizona's family witnessed an SUV apparently tipping over on its side.
