Moped stolen after incident with BMW in Christchurch

Officials are appealing for information following a robbery in Christchurch.

A man in his twenties was riding a grey Honda moped along Barrack Road when a black and grey BMW came towards him near the Esso petrol station.

The BMW pushed the moped off the road.

The passenger got out of the car and the moped driver fled the scene of the accident because he felt threatened by the incident.

A male passenger then got out of the car and drove away on the moped towards the Iford roundabout, followed by the BMW.

The incident occurred on September 22 at around 10:25 a.m.

Constable Rachael Birch, of Bournemouth East and Christchurch Police, said: “We are conducting a detailed investigation into this incident and I am keen to receive any witness statements or information that may assist our investigation.”

“I am particularly interested in feedback from drivers who may have captured relevant dashcam footage.

“I would also urge residents with CCTV or doorbell cameras to review their footage for anything that could help us identify the vehicle involved.”
