Internet outages are being reported in Beaufort, Hilton Head and throughout Beaufort County

Sparklight, formerly known as Hargray, reported a major internet outage across the region, including Beaufort County, Monday morning.

Sergeant Danny Allen of the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office confirmed that internet was down throughout Beaufort County.

The non-emergency emergency call center and 9-1-1 remain operational.

Teachers also report that internet access is down in Beaufort public schools.

The City of Beaufort announced at 11:15 a.m. that all of its facilities were without internet service.

Downdetector.com showed outages in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama.

In the Lowcountry, Sparklight serves Beaufort, Bluffton, Hilton Head and Hardeeville.

Hargray recently joined Sparklight. When the announcement was made in August, Sparklight and Hargray said they would “focus on offering even more: cutting-edge technology, exceptional customer service and a commitment to connecting you to what matters most.”
