Driver charged after Dormont crash that killed motorcyclist

A man is dead after he was struck by a car while riding his motorcycle in Dormont Saturday night, according to Allegheny County police. At 10:40 p.m., police were notified that a car had struck a motorcycle near the intersection of Pioneer Avenue and West Liberty Avenue. Emergency responders found a motorcyclist with serious injuries. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died. He was later identified as 23-year-old Christian Sluka. Police said the driver of the car, a red Ford Taurus, left the scene of the accident on foot, along with a woman and child. On Sunday night, county police announced the arrest of 25-year-old Saul Rivera-Ramirez. He is charged with vehicular manslaughter, accidents resulting in death or personal injury without a proper license and operating a vehicle without a license. County police said Rivera-Ramirez is an undocumented immigrant. According to court documents, he is being held without bail while awaiting a preliminary hearing.
