Anthony Joshua vows to fight on after devastating loss to Dubois for world title | Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua insists his career is “far from over” following his fifth-round KO loss to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Joshua was aiming to become a three-time world champion by claiming the IBF heavyweight world title, but instead suffered a major setback – the fourth of his career – when he was knocked out in front of a record-breaking crowd of 98,128.

The 34-year-old was knocked down four times by Dubois, including once in the first round, and many people subsequently called for Joshua to retire. But Joshua posted a video on X on Monday afternoon stressing that his boxing career is not over and that a possible rematch against Dubois and another all-British fight against Tyson Fury are possible in the future.

He said: “We didn't make it but we have to look at the positive and that's the perspective we have to have: always a positive one. Look at what we have achieved in 11 years, it's phenomenal and I want to thank each and every one of you who have ridden with me.

“What a rollercoaster ride, but you know what the problem is? It's far from over. We've done it once, we've done it twice, to do it a third time hasn't been easy, but I believe I can do it. It's about taking the right steps forward, working hard, improving, and that's what has to happen from here. [gestures to his heart] more than anything else.

“It’s only been a day, but I know when I sit back, I know I have a lot of it [heart]. Thank you for your support, thank you for being on this rollercoaster ride with me. Hold on tight because deep down I know we can add so much more to this game. British Boxing, I appreciate you and let's get up together, let's go.”
