Sam Elliott's swearing in a folksy campaign ad could make you vote for Harris

Sam Elliott swears support for Kamala Harris in a new campaign ad. (See it below.)

The 80-year-old actor, known for his down-to-earth manner in Westerns and other films and television shows, implored voters to recognize the “courage” of the Democratic candidate and shun the “lies and hate” of Donald Trump.

“Are we really going back down the same damn broken path?” Elliott says in the video released Monday by the Lincoln Project.

The images are often the standard motifs seen in other campaign ads – wilderness, farms and the American flag – but Elliott's words come through as if they were coming from a crackling campfire.

“It’s time to be a man and vote for a woman,” Elliott says.

We hear you, buddy.

Elliott did a similar commercial for President Joe Biden a few years ago, and his voice made a good impression then, too.

In addition to the star of “Tombstone” and “The Quick and the Dead,” other celebrities known for their voices – Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Fran Drescher – are also supporting the vice president.
