In the first snap, Carly holds her newly ringed hand to her chest as she and MGN smile at the camera. This is followed by a sunlit zoom in on her new jewelry, a shot of her braided blonde hair from behind as she stands in a field of flowers, a shot of MGN staring at horses in a pen, another shows the couple petting a white horse, and a final image shows the two kissing.

The couple met while Jepsen was working on the dreamy dance-pop song “So Right” from her 2023 album. The best time Album, one track was co-written and produced by MGN. According to PeopleIt was Jepsen's management team that connected her with former indie band Haunted Graffiti member Ariel Pink, who has also won six Grammy Awards for his work with Beck; MGN was previously married to Nite Jewel's Ramona Gonzalez for 12 years.

“I would have been too shy before to say, 'Do you want to do a sketch at the beginning?' But now that we're so close, it was just really fun and playful to say, 'Let's do this '80s drama sketch at the beginning where you ask me to come over and I say no, but then I come anyway,'” she said of the song's intro, which sees the two briefly chat about whether it would be a good idea for them to hang out together late at night. “You have to get comfortable with someone before you can get to those really playful, joyful, experimental phases.”

At the time, “So Right” was the first song the pair worked on together, but Jepsen said People that it probably wouldn't be the last time. “We're going to travel somewhere and take a little acoustic guitar with us,” she said. “I think you'll see a lot more of us working together on future projects, but this is our first little baby in the world. We're both so excited.”

At the time of going to press, the couple had not yet announced a wedding date.
