Sean O'Malley complains about the results of his loss to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306

Sean O'Malley is known for his fights and sometimes controversial comments, and his latest appearance is sure to attract a lot of attention.

The former UFC bantamweight champion, who lost his title to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306, previously offered no excuses and admitted to being beaten, but after rewatching the fight more than a week later, O'Malley is convinced he should be awarded the win – contrary to the opinion of many, including the judges who scored the fight.

“The story of that damn fight is that I got my ass kicked,” O'Malley said on his YouTube channel last week. “I'm going to ask the UFC to please put that fight on YouTube. I won the first, third and fifth rounds. I challenge any little morons that think I got my ass kicked to watch that fight again. I know it's hard to be unbiased, but watch the fight again, turn off the commentary and tell me I didn't win that fight. I won the first, third and fifth rounds. Oh, I'm fucking hot right now. I'm the champion, I won, watch the fight again.”

O'Malley (18-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) rewatched the fight with trainer Tim Welch and his friends, who all agreed with how he scored the fight for himself. O'Malley was criticized for this, with many claiming he was surrounded by “yes men.”

In a follow-up video on Monday, O'Malley stuck to his stance.

“It's funny. People say, 'You've got a bunch of yes-men around you,' but if you look closely at rounds 1, 3 and 5, no comments, I'm not going to talk too much about it, just look at 1, 3 and 5,” O'Malley said. “Rounds 2 and 4 I lost, no discussion. Those two rounds I lost 100 percent, but not 1, 3 and 5.”

O'Malley will undergo hip surgery on October 3 to repair an injury sustained during training camp for his title defense against Dvalishvili (18-4 MMA, 11-2 UFC). He expects to be out between six months and a year.
