Domestic dispute incident leads to arrest in Marathon

MARATHON, NY (WBNG) — One person was arrested following a domestic dispute incident by New York State Police in Homer.

A New York State Trooper was dispatched from the Cortland County 911 Center on September 22 to a report of a domestic dispute on State Route 211 in Marathon at approximately 4:29 p.m.

An investigation revealed that 32-year-old Dillion R. Wilcox got into an argument with a victim that turned physical. Wilcox choked the victim and threatened to harm him while displaying a knife, according to New York State Police.

According to New York State Police, the victim was able to leave the apartment before police arrived, but Wilcox refused to leave the apartment for about an hour.

Wilcox eventually left the apartment and was arrested. He is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree menacing, and misdemeanor criminal obstruction of breathing.

Wilcox was transported to the Cortland County Correctional Facility for central arraignment.

The victim was examined on site by paramedics but was not taken to hospital.
