Big Ed from '90 Day' cancels 'impulsive' 24-hour engagement with Porscha Raemond

And just like that, Big Ed is single again.

Less than a week after the 90 Day Fiancé Star announced his engagement to 29-year-old Porscha Raemond just 24 hours after meeting her at a meet and greet with fans. The TLC star has now confirmed that the engagement is over.

“Love is a crazy thing… I did something impulsive, I asked this girl to marry me, and after thinking about it… It's too soon and it's obviously not really what I want,” Big Ed, 59, said in a video he posted to Instagram on Sept. 23. “After talking to my family, I realized I don't want to get married. I want to be single. So I wish her – Porscha – the best in life.”

He also shared the news in a post on his Instagram stories, calling the proposal “a turbulent and admittedly very impulsive moment.”

“After careful consideration and discussions with those closest to me, I realized that rushing into this decision was not the right step. I have nothing but respect and love for Porscha and wish her all the best for the future.”

After proposing to Porscha, Big Ed told Page Six it was love at first sight, recalling being “surprised” when she walked in and calling her “this beautiful Italian dish.”

Describing her as his “dream woman,” he said they immediately “hit it off” at the fan meet-and-greet event in Plantation, Florida, and made plans for the next evening. Over dinner at YOLO restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, he told a friend, “Dude, that's the one. I want to ask her to marry me.”

With his friend's encouragement, the reality star improvised a ring out of a paper clip, got down on one knee and said everyone in the restaurant was “going crazy.”

“I [told her]”Look, I never want to let you go. I think I've found the right one. I want to marry you.” And she said, “Yes,” and we hugged and kissed.”

Big Ed was last seen in season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé: And they lived happily ever after, where he and Liz Woods called off their engagement for the 15th time – but this time for good. At the reunion, she introduced Ed to her new boyfriend Jayson, who she has been dating since the beginning of this year.

The exes parted on good terms and he told PEOPLE in June that he wanted her to be “happy” with Jayson. “I will always love Liz. She will always be a part of my life.”

He was also previously engaged to Rose, whom fans met on Before the 90 days Season 4.
