INDIANAPOLIS — Terre Haute native Richard Goodall, Indiana's “signing janitor,” performed on Tuesday night's finale of “America's Got Talent.” Voting to crown this season's champion ended at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Goodall sang “Faithfully” by Journey on Tuesday’s show and received thunderous applause from the judges and the live audience.

“You are such an incredible man. You are so humble, you are so kind,” said Heidi Klum during the finale. “I want you to win so much, Richard.”

“We all need a hero right now and you are our hero,” said Simon Cowell.

“I’m going to make a prediction: I think you just sang yourself a million dollars,” said Howie Mandel.

The winner will receive the show's grand prize of $1 million.

The winner will be announced in a star-studded finale on Tuesday, September 24. During the show, the finalists will perform once again alongside celebrities, including Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, singer Michael Bublé and comedian Gabriel Iglesias, among others.

Goodall, a janitor for Vigo County Schools, became a viral sensation after his rendition of Journey's “Don't Stop Believin'” at a school talent show caught the attention of former Journey frontman Steve Perry and Mandel on TikTok.

“Howie, he posted me on his TikTok and it said, 'Must be on AGT,'” Goodall said.

His success became even greater when he received a Golden Buzzer during his audition for Klum's show.

Goodall returned to Los Angeles in August for the live quarterfinals, where he sang Michael Bolton's “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You?” and then secured his ticket to the finals last week with his version of Survivor's “Eye of the Tiger.”
