Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin continued his inspirational career during Monday night’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In the second quarter, with the Bills leading 20-3, Hamlin made the first interception of his career when Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence sent a pass sailing over the head of the intended receiver:

After suffering a cardiac arrest on the field during a Monday Night Football game in the 2022 season, Hamlin spent the 2023 season getting back into shape. He earned the starting free safety spot for the 2024 season, and during Monday's game against Jacksonville, things came full circle for him.

After Hamlin's interception, star quarterback Josh Allen and Khalil Shakir scored to give the Bills a 27-3 lead.

Fans on social media enthusiastically celebrated Hamlin after his interception:

Damar Hamlin's return to the game is perhaps the best football story of this decade. He was dead on the field. Now he is the starting safety for the @BuffaloBills and just caught the first interception of his career. THAT'S A NICE SEE. @HamlinIsland pic.twitter.com/I0rMAeGcad

Hamlin's inspirational moment was a welcome addition to a long list of highlights for Buffalo in Monday's game against Jacksonville.

Allen threw three touchdowns in the first half, further establishing himself as an early favorite for NFL MVP. After starting the season with two consecutive wins, the Bills appear to be on track to remain undefeated.
