Schools in Suffolk pray together for victims of West Babylon plane crash

Hundreds of students, teachers, faculty and parishioners from the Suffolk Catholic community gathered to pray for the victims of Saturday's fatal car crash in West Babylon.

They gathered in the auditorium of St. John the Baptist High School to pray for senior Bella Trezza.

The 17-year-old was critically injured in the accident.

Bella's passenger, Riley Goot, 18, was killed.

Her brother Austin and her friends Anthony Pagliuca and Jack Murphy were injured.

“We must not give up. We must continue to hope and trust that God's will will prevail and that he will bring healing to all of us now,” said Father Matthew Browne, the bishop's liaison for Catholic education.

The teenagers all come from different schools and members of these school communities came together at a vigil on Monday evening to pray for all the victims and their families.

“Our school community, the school community of St. Anthony, our friends in West Babylon, all of our communities are in need, they are suffering,” said Vincent Albrecht, principal of St. John the Baptist High School.
