Drug Possession Case Update – Gabriella Cantu – Sentenced to Prison – Mercer County Outlook

Union City, Ohio (9/23/24) – Union City Police announce the conclusion of a significant drug possession case involving Gabriella Cantu. Cantu was initially charged with possession of a large amount of methamphetamine in 2023. Her defense filed a motion to suppress evidence, which the Darke County Common Pleas Court granted. However, after an appeal by the Darke County District Attorney's Office, the Second District Court of Appeals overturned that decision.

Cantu has since accepted a plea deal and pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony. She was sentenced to a minimum of two and a maximum of three years in the Ohio Department of Corrections.

Cantu was released into the custody of the Darke County Sheriff's Office and will be transported to the Ohio Department of Corrections.
