Police seize phone of Lancaster Country Day School student accused of creating AI-generated nude images of minors | Local News

According to a search warrant, police in August seized the cellphone of a former Lancaster Country Day School student who was accused of using artificial intelligence to create nude photos of female classmates.

Susquehanna Region police seized an iPhone 11 from the ninth-grader's East Donegal Township home in August. Police said recovering the phone's contents could help determine how the student created the images and who they were sent to.

According to an affidavit, at least three other students at Lancaster Country Day School saw the images on the student's computer and cell phone. The students reported that the images were kept in file folders with the names of different students.

The affidavit confirms the testimony of a parent of a student at Lancaster Country Day School who told LNP | Lancaster Online in August that images of more than 20 students were shared in an online chatroom.

Details of the arrest warrant were first reported by WGAL.

The Lancaster Country Day School administration was first made aware of the images in November 2023 when they received an anonymous tip through Safe2Say Something, an online service run by the state Attorney General's Office through which students, parents and staff can submit tips and concerns about possible youth violence, according to a letter the school sent to parents in June.

School officials said they investigated the anonymous tip in November and could not confirm the report at the time. In the affidavit, police said no notifications were sent to parents or students.

After a second allegation was made against the student in May, school officials reopened the investigation, expelled the student from school and reported the incident, according to a letter the school sent to parents.
