Earlier on Sunday, the 20-year-old vendor, named Ali Khan, was arrested by the Manpada police. According to the police, the incident took place at a market in the Nilje area of ​​Dombivali.

The arrest came after an angry reaction from the public, who later vandalised the market before the police could arrive and bring the situation under control.

Meanwhile, Khan was arrested under sections 271 (negligent act likely to spread dangerous disease), 272 (malicious act likely to cause infection) and 296 (obscenity) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The investigation is still ongoing. On September 15, residents in Ghaziabad attacked two employees of a juice shop because they allegedly mixed urine into their products.

Authorities said a plastic container of urine was found in the store, raising further suspicions. The workers reportedly eventually confessed to the crime and apologized after the altercation.

They were later arrested by police and investigations are ongoing to assess the health risks to customers.
