Distance learning this week for students at Jay Junior-Senior High

PORTLAND, Indiana – Insurance crews, contractors and structural engineers were on site at Jay County Junior-Senior High School on Monday and will continue their assessments on Tuesday, according to a news release from the school's district.

Major systems, including the school's heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), are down and are expected to remain down for the remainder of the week.

As a result:

All K-6 schools, including preschools at the Shanks and West Jay locations, will resume classes as scheduled Tuesday. These locations were not affected by the tornado and internet and phone service have been restored.
