Tropical system brings rain

Tropical events will affect parts of South Carolina and Georgia later this week

Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine, expected to become Helene, continues to strengthen while currently wreaking havoc in Jamaica and Cuba. It will move north into the Gulf of Mexico through Wednesday and will likely intensify into a Category 2 hurricane before making landfall near the Florida Panhandle on Thursday. Once it makes landfall, it should continue to move north very quickly. If its track holds, the Upstate could see rain starting Thursday afternoon into Friday. By the end of Friday, the heaviest rains and winds will move out. If its track holds, several inches of rain are currently expected. Watch the video above for full details.
