According to police, James' son, 28-year-old Christopher Hudak, was arrested by officers and taken to the hospital for treatment of a hand injury and then taken away for questioning.

Christopher was later arrested and charged with murder.

According to court documents, Christopher told a police officer who arrived at the scene, “I had to defend myself.”

According to police, investigators obtained a search warrant for the house and the ground floor of the building was in “complete disarray,” with tables overturned, a smashed television and items scattered around the room.

“When I heard about it, I was surprised,” said neighbor Dave Chulack. “I never thought he was like that at all. There was no reason to believe it.”
