Here is the forecast for the week

As fall approaches, many Phoenix residents hope for a break from triple-digit heat. But recent analysis from the National Weather Service suggests summer is not quite there yet.

Last week's brief respite with cooler temperatures was short-lived. A heat advisory is in effect for the Phoenix area from Wednesday morning through Saturday evening, with triple-digit afternoon temperatures expected again, according to a weather forecast.

A high pressure system is forming over the region, which the weather service says will lead to above-average temperatures. This pattern typically brings clear skies and dry conditions with little wind and no chance of rain – elements that typically lead to sustained heat. Afternoon temperatures in the Phoenix metropolitan area are forecast to be 108 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit on those days.
