Michael Chandler's brave guarantee after defeat against Conor McGregor

Michael Chandler made some claims before his UFC return.

Chandler has not competed since November 2022. The former three-time Bellator lightweight champion was waiting for a fight with MMA top star Conor McGregor. The two were supposed to meet in June, but the “Notorious” suffered an injury.

As it turns out, the Chandler vs. McGregor fight will not happen, at least not in 2024. Chandler will have a rematch with Charles Oliveira on November 16 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Before the fight, Chandler had high expectations.

Michael Chandler posted a video on social media addressing his supporters, vowing to put in the effort and combine the old Chandler with something unique.

“Oh man, it took me 16 years to have an epiphany. It took me 16 years and a year and a half of not playing sports and a year and a half of not competing to realize something, and that's a huge epiphany. On November 16th, you're going to see something completely different,” Chandler said. “It's still going to be typical Chandler, thrilling, non-stop action, non-stop speed, ferocity, violence, pressure. All the typical Chandler fighting stuff, but this is going to be different. This means so much more than you'll ever know.”

When Chandler steps into the Octagon this November, he'll be out for some sort of revenge. In May 2021, Chandler failed in his bid to win UFC gold, suffering a second-round TKO loss to “Bronx.”
