Man charged with kidnapping after incident at Alleghany County apartment: officials

The Alleghany County Sheriff's Office said a man has been charged with domestic violence and kidnapping following an incident at an apartment.

At approximately 6:48 a.m. on Monday, Alleghany County Emergency Services was contacted via 911 and informed that the caller's daughter needed police at the Mountain View Apartments.

Upon arrival, officers from the Clifton Forge Police Department made contact with the resident of the address, who stated that there was another person in the residence. Officers then asked the person to exit the residence. The suspect, Eric Lee Kincaid, managed to escape through a rear window of the residence. Officers and deputies from the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office searched the area without results, deputies said.

According to officials, the victim was taken to Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital where his injuries were treated.

Officials said Kincaid was later found at an address on Ogles Creek in Alleghany County and is in custody and charged with:

  • 18.2-57.2 (Domestic violence)
  • 18.2-48 (kidnapping)

Kincaid is currently being held at the Alleghany County Regional Jail, officials said.

Deputies said this case remains under investigation by the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office, Clifton Forge Police Department and Virginia State Police. The Alleghany County Sheriff's Office would like to inform the public that there is no danger to the public in connection with this investigation.
