YUBA COUNTY – A Marysville man and woman were killed in a motorcycle crash on Highway 70 late Monday night, authorities said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, shortly before 11:30 p.m., a motorcycle driven by a 62-year-old Marysville resident and carrying a 63-year-old Marysville woman as a passenger was traveling north on Highway 70.

At the same time, near Nobel Road, a sedan drove out of a driveway next to the highway – and drove directly into the path of the motorcycle.

Eventually the motorcycle crashed into the sedan, throwing both drivers out.

Officials say both drivers died in the crash. The names of the drivers have not been released.

Investigators do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
