16-year-old arrested for gas station robbery, car and weapon theft

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Wichita Falls Police have released details of the arrest of a 16-year-old who was arrested Tuesday morning following an apparent series of robberies.

Charlie Eipper, WFPD spokesman, said the 16-year-old was arrested on charges of stolen firearm, stolen vehicle and evading arrest in a vehicle. The charges expected to be filed include six counts of aggravated robbery.

At around 1:20 a.m., the WFPD said, the 16-year-old brandished a gun outside the Stripes on Holiday Street, demanded all of the money, and then fled in a white car with black stripes. He then did the same thing outside the Stripes on Broad Street.

Wichita Falls Police found that the 16-year-old was later caught robbing a QT in the same vehicle. Officers lost contact with the suspect and it was determined that he had stolen a vehicle from the parking lot of Pioneer No.3 restaurant.

While fleeing from police, the suspect stopped at the DK on Hatton Road. Inside the store, the WFPD said he not only robbed the convenience store, but also had a clerk unlock her car and stole her phone. The last place the suspect went was Stripes on Kemp Boulevard. However, the WFPD said that during the attempted robbery, a man stood between the suspect and the clerk, causing the 16-year-old to flee.

Officers were later able to track down the suspect after the stolen vehicle was found at the Walmart on Lawrence Road. WFPD said the 16-year-old fled the scene and was later found after crashing the vehicle near Jacksboro Highway and Midwestern Parkway.

Officials said the suspect then fled on foot and was found on a balcony near the Wood View Apartments.
