Beezley, 43, appeared before 8th District Court Judge Sarah Cure on Tuesday morning, where he pleaded not guilty. The charges against him include two counts of attempted premeditated murder (a Class 2 felony); reckless endangerment (a Class 2 misdemeanor); resisting arrest (a Class 2 misdemeanor); obstructing a peace officer (a Class 2 misdemeanor); reckless driving (a Class 2 traffic misdemeanor); possession of fentanyl with intent to manufacture or distribute (a Class 1 drug felony); and fleeing with a vehicle (a Class 5 felony); as well as two counts of criminal violence involving the use of a weapon.

It scheduled a four-day trial that would begin on February 5, 2025, and last until February 10 of the following week.

On June 28, LCSO officers made contact with Beezley in the 2400 block of East Ninth Street in Loveland. Beezley, a Loveland resident, was wanted on several charges, including assault, child abuse, property damage, domestic violence and drug possession with intent to resell, according to a previous LCSO news release.

Beezley is accused of refusing to cooperate with law enforcement as he attempted to flee in his truck. A passenger in his vehicle was outside at the time, and Beezley ran over the man's leg before recklessly driving toward seven LCSO officers, the release states. Officers eventually prevented him from leaving the scene and arrested him.

Although Cure moved the charges for trial following a preliminary hearing in late August, she did so with some reservations about the attempted murder charge, pointing out concerns in the testimony of one of the officers involved during the hearing, which was compared to body-worn camera footage submitted as part of the trial.

Beezley remains in custody at the Larimer County Jail in Fort Collins. Bail is set at a total of $43,000, including $30,000 in cash or surety for the attempted murder charge, $10,000 for a Denver County warrant and $3,000 for a Weld County warrant for failure to appear.
