JASPER COUNTY, Ind. – After a deadly “incident” in Jasper County, the victim’s family is hoping for more information.

Jasper County Sheriff Patrick Williamson recently stated that officers were called to assist paramedics in caring for Rhyker Earl on Sept. 8. He eventually became unresponsive and later died at the hospital.

Now Earl's grandmother says she called the police because her grandson was having epileptic seizures.

However, her family believes that the officers contributed to his death by denying him breathing instead of providing him with the help he needed.

Attorney Benjamin Crump claims that police officers handcuffed Earl and pinned him to the ground. While Williamson points out that they did indeed restrain the man, he argues that they did not restrict his breathing.

Crump is calling on police to release bodycam video of the incident. The sheriff believes the fabricated allegations in the case are intended to give Earl's family an advantage in court and influence community trust.
