Severe thunderstorm warning issued for parts of Miami Valley – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

MIAMI VALLEY – There is a chance of much-needed rain and severe storms across the region on Tuesday.

Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Ryan Marando is monitoring conditions and will have the latest information on News Center 7 starting at 5:00 a.m.

A Severe weather warning was issued for Butler, Greene, Montgomery, Preble and Warren counties until 8 p.m.

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) classifies the Miami Valley as having a low risk of severe weather, level 1 out of 5.

According to Ritz, we could experience showers and some thunder starting Tuesday morning.

Some gusty thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon.

The likelihood of severe storms is low, but gusty winds, hail and isolated tornadoes are possible, Ritz says.

We could also see frequent lightning with maximum temperatures around 25 degrees.
