Japanese patent expert says Nintendo may have extended its claims specifically to Palworld

Nintendo may have strengthened certain patents to give its Palworld lawsuit more legal force.

An analysis by a Japanese law firm specializing in patent law (via Automaton Media) concludes that “patents granted before Palworld's release did not necessarily correspond to Palworld's gameplay mechanics,” while patents filed after Palworld's early access launch earlier this year “worked to improve on this.”
