Monster Hunter Wilds will be released in February

Monster Hunter Wilds will officially be released on February 28, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The next entry in Capcom's massive Monster Hunter series was announced during PlayStation State of Play and will be released early next year. There's a new trailer to coincide with the date.

The trailer showed off some new monsters, including a water monster that looks like a stingray, and offered some more insight into the story's villain, Arkveld. In addition to the story announcements, there were small glimpses of some gameplay features, like the ability to use the grappling hook to take advantage of environmental hazards. It also showed some hunters throwing barrel bombs instead of simply placing them, potentially allowing for more long-range attacks with the barrels.

The new trailer also showed off more creatures from the Scarlet Forest, including the Wudwuds – a tribe of Lynians – who were seemingly isolated from the outside world. The Quematrice, a brutal wyvern from the Windward Plains, was shown spraying flammable material everywhere.

Monster Hunter Wilds is a big step forward for the series, introducing larger, open zones for monster hunting and including more monsters in those areas at once. Additionally, there are new features like gender-neutral armor, giving players even more options for creating fashionable armor sets.
