One suspect arrested, two on the run after drive-by shooting near Big Boy supermarket in Gulfport, police say

GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) – A suspect was arrested following a drive-by shooting near the Big Boys supermarket on Dedeaux Road in Gulfport.

On September 23, 2024 at approximately 3:56 p.m., Gulfport Police responded to a shooting in the 13000 block of Dedeaux Road.

When officers arrived, they found over 20 shell casings in the parking lot and spoke to several witnesses.

After an investigation, it was determined that a verbal argument had occurred between the victim and three suspects, identified as Jaevon Kenderick Weems, Jayquarius Anthony Keyes and Kaleb Zaches Anderson.

After the victim finished shopping, he left the store, whereupon the suspects attempted to physically attack him.

The victim managed to get into his vehicle and was about to leave the parking lot when Keyes shot at his vehicle multiple times, damaging it as he left the supermarket.

After the first shots were fired, the suspects got into their vehicle and pursued the victim, continuing to shoot at him before fleeing the area.

Keyes, also known as “Qdub,” is wanted for aggravated assault and drive-by shooting. He is described as a 22-year-old black man, approximately 5'2″ tall and 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anderson is also wanted for a drive-by shooting. He is described as a 22-year-old black man, approximately 5'6″ tall and 165 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Both Keyes and Anderson are considered armed and dangerous.
