18-year-old from Texas allegedly shot minors in DeRidder

DERIDDER, La. (CALF) – An 18-year-old from Cleveland, Texas, is accused of shooting a juvenile in DeRidder on Sept. 20, according to DeRidder police.

DPD said it received a complaint from Beauregard Health System shortly before midnight about a juvenile with a gunshot wound. During the investigation, DPD found the following: Anthony Ray Goldman was at the DeRidder High School Band practice field on Oneal Street. At approximately 9:45 p.m., DPD reported that Goldman fired several shots from a .22 caliber pistol, striking a juvenile, and a fight broke out between Goldman and the juvenile at that location.

The DPD said the firearm was later found and that the pistol's serial number had been obscured.

On September 24, Goldman was arrested on the following charges and held without bail:

  • Attempted second degree murder
  • Possession of a firearm with obscured numbers or markings
  • Possession of a firearm in a gun-free zone
