Two people charged with drug offenses – Odessa American

Two Odessa men were arrested Monday on several serious crimes following a tip that one of them was selling $30M worth of fentanyl pills from his motel room.

According to an Odessa Police report, detectives heard that 20-year-old Brayam Licon was dealing drugs from his room at the Fairfield Inn and Suites on John Ben Shepperd Parkway and began surveillance of his room on Monday.

There, investigators saw Licon get into a Chevrolet Silverado that was missing its front license plate and decided to pull him over, the report said. However, according to the report, the driver, identified as Jayden Patterson, 25, sped away from officers and crashed into a parked car on Melody Lane.

After the two men were arrested, investigators found a pill bottle containing 8.5 grams of M30 pills on the ground next to the driver's door, the report said. They could also smell marijuana inside the truck.

When investigators searched the truck, they found 2.5 grams of fentanyl pills and 1.3 grams of cocaine in a dollar bill, the report said.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for Licon's motel room and found a stolen AR-15, 6.8 grams of cocaine and a small amount of fentanyl pills, the report said.

Licon was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and theft of a firearm. He is being held in the Ector County Jail by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on a total bond of $52,500.

Ector County District Court records show Licon was sentenced to 10 years' probation last October after pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance.

Patterson was arrested on suspicion of fleeing with a motor vehicle, possession of cocaine and manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance. Patterson was released from jail on Tuesday after posting a total of $55,000 bail.
