'Jackass' star must remain in prison after being arrested in Pennsylvania for drunk driving

Former “Jackass” star Bam Margera remains in jail after being arrested last week on suspicion of drunken driving.

According to 6ABC and the Philadelphia Inquirer, Margera was in a Chester County courtroom on Monday on charges of violating the terms of his probation.

State police said the “Viva La Bam” star was arrested during a traffic stop in Fulton County on September 16. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest in Chester County.

Police responded to a report of a man sitting outside an ice cream parlor in Belfast Township, but the person drove away in a sedan.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle and stop traffic, whereupon Margera was arrested.

Common Pleas Court Judge Patrick Carmody said Margera must undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation before a decision can be made as to whether he should be released and sent to a court-selected rehabilitation facility.

Mergera's lawyers told the judge that he had been doing well since his arrest last year for assaulting his brother and threatening family members, and argued that the latest incident was merely a relapse.

“Nobody is here with any bad intentions – everyone wants Bam to get help,” Brennan told reporters after the hearing, according to 6ABC. “He's really done phenomenally well, he's had a little setback… This is someone who's a good guy but has an addiction.”
