NOPD officer arrested for assault

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A New Orleans police officer has been arrested and charged with assault.

According to an NOPD spokesman, Officer Darien Crochet was arrested for second-degree assault.

Police did not provide any further details about the incident.

Crochet will now work in the office until the investigation is completed.
