“The fight everyone still wants to see”: Tony Bellew on Fury vs. Joshua

Tony Bellew is one of many who believe that despite Anthony Joshua's loss to Daniel Dubois last weekend, there will still be strong interest in a fight between Joshua and his long-time press rival Tyson Fury.

And Bellew doesn't see any outcome for Fury's rematch against Oleksandr Usyk in December that would change that – and he expects a repeat from Usyk.

“You can never say a man is completely finished. Tyson Fury is a really good fighter and he's just unlucky to be facing one of the best fighters the world has ever seen in Oleksandr Usyk,” Bellew told AceOdds.

“To say he's finished after one loss would be very, very harsh. If he loses to Usyk again, which I believe he will, does that mean we don't want to see him fight Anthony Joshua? In my opinion, that's the fight that everyone still wants to see. It's a massive fight for Britain and for the world of heavyweight boxing.

“I think the Wilder fight [for Joshua] is the one who suffered the most damage after leaving the path [Wilder has] has been beaten in his last two fights, but as for Fury, I think everyone still likes the fight against AJ unless he gets completely blown out by Usyk.”

Joshua (28-4, 25 KO) has a rematch clause to face Dubois again, while Fury (34-1-1, 24 KO) has flirted with retirement before and could do so again no matter what happens in December.

But it will There would be money available for Fury and Joshua in 2025 and there would certainly still be huge numbers of tickets sold.
