Vince McMahon comments on the “Mr. McMahon” documentary series

Vince McMahon makes a statement.

The former WWE CEO made a rare public comment on September 23 when he issued a statement ahead of the premiere of “Mr. McMahon,” the Netflix docuseries about him.

“I have no regrets about participating in this Netflix documentary,” he wrote. “The producers had the opportunity to tell an objective story about my life and the incredible business I've built that was equally full of excitement, drama, fun and a lot of controversy and life lessons. Unfortunately, based on an early cut I saw, this documentary falls short of expectations and goes down the predictable path of conflating the character 'Mr. McMahon' with the real me, Vince. The titles and commercials alone make that clear.”

Vince McMahon says a lot is misrepresented or omitted

Vince McMahon continued: “Much has been misrepresented or omitted entirely to intentionally confuse viewers. Producers use typical editing tricks with out-of-context footage and outdated soundbites, etc. to distort viewers' perceptions and support a misleading narrative.

To support their misleading narrative, the producers use a lawsuit related to an affair I ended as proof that I am, in fact, “Mr. McMahon.”

I hope the viewer remains open-minded and remembers that every story has two sides.”

Vince McMahon remains under investigation for allegations of sexual harassment and human trafficking made by Janel Grant in her lawsuit against him. McMahon denied the allegations and resigned from WWE and TKO in January.

“Mr. McMahon” will premiere on Netflix on September 25th.
