Three more people charged in fatal shooting of Columbus teenager

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Three more arrests have been made after a 15-year-old boy was fatally shot in Columbus last week shortly after getting off a school bus.

The suspects, Demetrius Miles, Gregory Nelson and Marquis Roberts, were arrested Tuesday, according to Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman. They are charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

Countryman said his office and Columbus police have been assisting the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the FBI and the Coweta County Sheriff's Office in locating suspects wanted in connection with the shooting of Earkavion Lee.

Lee was a ninth-grader at Kendrick High School. He was shot and killed last Thursday near his home on Watkins Drive.

Roannil Clanton, 20, was arrested hours after the shooting last week. He made his first court appearance on Tuesday, where he pleaded not guilty.
