South Florida drivers are startled by man in clown costume walking up and down the bridge over the Palmetto Expressway with a hammer in his hand – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) – A bizarre incident involving a clown on a bridge in southwest Miami-Dade prompted police to launch a brief manhunt for the person after receiving a number of reports from frightened motorists below.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday when a person dressed as a clown was caught on a pedestrian bridge over the Palmetto Expressway near the Bird Road exit.

He was seen pacing back and forth, apparently with a hammer in his hand, and nervously fiddling with the American flag as traffic passed under the bridge.

The drivers under the bridge were fed up with the clown show and one of them shouted at the clown: “Get a job.”

A surveillance video shows the clown scurrying off the bridge.

Several officers were dispatched to the scene, but when officers arrived, the clown had disappeared.

It is unclear who this person was or what exactly he was doing there.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of this clown, call Miami-Dade Police
