Travis Kelce’s Grotesquerie Costars Weigh In on His Major Acting Debut

Originally appeared on E! Online

Travis Kelce made a lasting impression on his Grotesquerie castmates, on and off camera.

In fact, the NFL star—who’s making his major TV debut in Ryan Murphy‘s FX series Sept. 25—has the potential for a career in acting, according to his TV family.

“Absolutely,” costar and Grotesquerie executive producer Courtney B. Vance told E! News’ Francesca Amiker. “He was an absolute genius in preparation and a wonderful, wonderful man.”

And costar Raven Goodwin couldn’t help but agree. “He was lovely,” she said. “So gracious, so sweet.”

“He can do anything he wants to do,” Raven noted of the athlete’s future as an actor. “He’s Travis Kelce.”

Meanwhile, actress Micaela Diamond credited Travis for being in a “team player mode” on set.

“I had a great time working with Travis,” she shared. “I think he’s such a dear.”

As Micaela pointed out, Grotesquerie is a milestone for her and Travis.

“This my first big TV show and it’s also his,” she explained. “So we were just the newbies on set, trying to soak in all of the information from these veteran actors.”

“That was fun for us,” Micaela continued. “We just loved the process. And I think that Travis trusts someone like Ryan who has such a grip on the zeitgeist and what is culturally interesting right now. And this part is really good for him.”

As for actor Nicholas Alexander Chavez, he’s beyond impressed by Travis.

“I can’t believe that it’s his first show,” he noted. “He stepped into his role with such confidence that I was really blown away.”

Ryan, the show’s creator, also recently sang Travis’ praises at the Grotesquerie‘s New York premiere.

“A star is a star is a star—and he’s a star,” he told E! News. “He’s so charismatic, and he’s so smart, he’s lovely. He had a window of time. He asked me to work up something for him. I did. It was an honor.”

And Travis had a great partner off-set cheering him on: girlfriend Taylor Swift.

“The only thing that [Travis and I] talked about was that she’s very supportive of him, and if he has an interest, she wanted him to try it,” Ryan shared. “I was thrilled about that.”
