Eastbound lanes of I-235 closed after truck accident

PREDICTION: THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN SHORTLY AND OUTSIDE. TRAFFIC wise, THERE WAS AN INCIDENT THIS AFTERNOON. THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT ON I-235 EASTBOUND, RIGHT ON THE NORTH SIDE OF DOWNTOWN. SO IT'S RIGHT WHERE I-235 GOES UNDER NINTH STREET. WE'LL SHOW YOU WHERE THE BACKUP IS NOW. HERE. THIS IS THE CAMERA PATH. LOOKING EAST. YOU SEE LOTS OF LAW VEHICLES. EVEN ON THE EASTBOUND THERE ARE NOT VERY MANY CARS MOVING. AS YOU DRIVE BACK TOWARDS MLK, YOU CAN SEE WHERE THESE CARS ARE SLOWING DOWN. A FEW BLOCKS FURTHER WEST, BUT TRAFFIC IS STILL FLYING. WHEN YOU GO BACK TOWARDS WEST DOWNTOWN. WHEN YOU ARE EAST OF NINTH STREET WHERE THE ACCIDENT IS, WHEN YOU SEE THE SECOND STREET. SECOND AVENUE CAMERA. WHEN YOU GO TOWARDS THE RIVER, TRAFFIC IS FLYING BACK EAST. FLASH AGAIN, FLYING AGAIN. Wednesday afternoon traffic on Interstate 235 slowed for some drivers in Des Moines. A large truck crashed near 7th Street and overturned, blocking several lanes of eastbound I-235, according to Des Moines police. DES MOINES, Iowa —

For some drivers in Des Moines, rush hour traffic on Interstate 235 slowed down Wednesday afternoon.

According to Des Moines police, a large truck crashed and overturned near 7th Street, blocking several lanes of eastbound I-235.
