The draw for the fourth round of the Carabao Cup is scheduled to take place to culminate in the clash between Liverpool and West Ham at Anfield on Wednesday evening – the last of the scheduled matches in the third round, which is spread over two weeks.

However, one more match still needs to be played to complete the round after AFC Wimbledon's meeting with Newcastle was postponed following flooding and pitch damage.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham are all safely through to the fourth round, while Arsenal also face Bolton on Wednesday night as they look to book their place in the next phase of the competition. Liverpool were last year's winners – then under Jurgen Klopp – and the Reds also hold the record for most League Cup wins with ten.

FULL TIME! Liverpool – West Ham 5:1

So it was a dominant performance from Liverpool, who were almost flawless in their 5-1 demolition of West Ham.

The red card for Alvarez certainly helped, and the away team had caused some problems for the home team's much-changed defence, but Quansah, Gomez and co. kept them at bay long enough for the attacking unit to do some damage.

The draw for the fourth round is expected to take place at approximately 22:20 BST.

There is not much time left for more, because with the final whistle the referee ends West Ham's suffering.

GOAL! Liverpool – West Ham 5:1

GOAL! Gakpo scores the deserved second goal.

The Dutchman collects the ball on the edge of the box, turns around Kudus and cuts inside. He fires a low shot from close range inside the box, the ball deflects off Todibo and lands in the bottom corner.

There are five minutes of stoppage time. Liverpool are hoping for a fifth goal, Gakpo storms into the box again, but this time his low shot lands right at Fabianski.

Liverpool – West Ham 3:1

A corner from Liverpool brings nothing and the game seems to be decided as the home team quickly wins the ball back and likes to pass it over the back four.

However, there is still time for one…

Antonio does well to get past Bradley, but the ball bounces off Morton and runs to Kelleher.

Liverpool go down the other side and Nunez gets into the box and to the byline before playing back but Jones is unable to convert the ball at the far post.

This game is over as a competition, although both sides are still “trying” to move forward.

Paqueta and Summerville try to find a way through on the edge of the box, but nothing happens.
